Building Traditional Kitchen Cabinets
by Jim Tolpin

This is a down-to-earth book written for almost any level of woodworker. Jim Tolpin keeps it simple and straight-forward – he shows how to build and install cabinets. The writing style combined with numerous photographs and illustrations should allow most woodworkers to build cabinetry with confidence. Jim talks about the Early American style periods, including Shaker, Arts & Crafts, and Colonial. The one thing missing from this book: a discussion of industry standard dimensions, so it's recommended that this book be used conjunction with a good kitchen design manual.

Reader's comments:

"... real information and what you need to know, in order to avoid costly mistakes. What finishes to use, and when. Prepping properly. How to build your cabinetry, and mark out your layout using a story stick. Drawing a floor plan to scale. He is not afraid to share with you the basics. It really is a step by step guide... "

"Excellent job! I've highlighted and dog-eared this one."

"I had about ten specific questions in mind when I ordered this book. I was able to quickly locate solid answers to all of them. ...and answered several issues I hadn't even thought of."
