The large sanding disk and extended arbor makes any sanding or smoothing task a breeze.
Getting smooth even curves can be tough to do by hand or with portable sanders. But after building this disk sander those hassles are a thing of the past. The top feature of the sander is the big 12″ disk of course. But that’s only the beginning. The drive shaft extends out the back to allow you to attach a buffing wheel or flap sander. And for easy access the head of the sander is designed to pivot. You’ll find building the sander is pretty straightforward too. It’s made from inexpensive MDF using basic rabbet and dado joinery. An added benefit MDF adds mass and reduces vibration.
