The Manpa Assistant Tool 1 lives up to its unusual name and is another extremely useful accessory from the Manpa team. Itconsists of two extensions, 6“(150mm) and 3-1/2″ (90mm) long, both of which are the usual high quality, lightweight and strong accessories we expect from Manpa. It adds a whole new dimension to sanding and is excellent for sanding inside, outside and around curved surfaces, hollow sockets, pockets, deep vessels and irregular shapes. Each is used individually in several ways and combinations on angle grinders and power drills. Theyextend sanding distances from 3-1/2″ (90mm) to 12-3/8″ (315mm) away from the business end of the power unit.Both extensions have an M10 thread for which theSpecial Adaptor MP21-SA-5/8(purchased separately) is first required to screw to the power source. Using Assistant Tool 1 for Flap sanding it ishighly recommend to use cloth backed sandpaper versus paper backed sandpaper. It is a better quality, lasts longer and is more flexible. The squares can be anywhere between 2″ and 6″ (50mm – 150mm) and applies to any grit sandpaper. This simple process means you can easily make your own flap sander in any grit and ensures sandpaper is exposed on both sides. Using Assistant Tool 1 with Cushion Pad and Sandpaper it is highly recommend to usecushion pads using sandpaper. The affordable and most efficient accessory is the 2″ Sanding Flex MP21-19-2 which simply screws into the top of either short or long Assistant Tool 1. This cushioned pad has a hook and loop surface to which you can attach sandpaper with the same size or 1/2″ (12mm) oversize MP21-R-3SP80 and MP21-R3SP220. You can also attach a myriad of market available hook and loop sandpaper styles and grits.
