The Rikon 12″ x 16-1/2″ Midi Lathe – 1 HP, Model: 70-150VSR, offers large industrial lathe features on a small scale for novice to professional turners alike. The powerful 1 HP DC motor with electronic variable speed controls offers a wide range of operating speeds for all types of turning. The digital RPM readout lets you easily see what speed the lathe is set. The ample diameter and spindle length turning capacities make turning bowls, spindles and everything in between possible. The forward and reverse drives allow for additional customization of your turning. The corded control box with magnetic back lets you move it along the front of the cast iron lathe bed into the position with the best access while using the lathe or emergency stopping. The left/outboard end of the lathe bed is milled to take a special 13-1/2″ bed extension (#70-903, sold separately) to allow outboard turning of diameters up to 15″. Lathe includes spur center, live center, 3″ faceplate, 6″ tool rest with 1″ diameter post, knock-out bar, wrenches and tool holder.
