This 16″ long cast iron lathe bed extension installs on the 70-1824VSR and 70-1824VSR2 lathes in 3 different locations to expand the use of the lathe when positioning the tool rest to work on spindle or bowl & platter turnings. Special size of the extension will only fit the 70-1824VSR and 70-1824VSR2 lathes. Features: Mounted on the end of the bed, it increases center-to-center length from 24″ to 40″ for spindle turning. Mounted on the front of the bed, it gives extra positioning options for the tool rest base to access project surfaces. Mounted on the left, outboard bed end, it increases swing from 18″ to 22″ for working bowls and platters. Includes hardware to attach to the beds of the 70-1824VSR and 70-1824VSR2 lathes.
