It features a machined aluminum handle, three steel shafts, and tungsten carbide cutters that, when dull, can be rotated or replaced in seconds! The Rikon 70-814NR Negative Rake R2 Square Carbide Insert Cutter was developed primarily for pen turning using plastics, acrylics, resins, and dense woods. This carbide cutter features an additional top bevel grind that reduces the bevel angle for a more controlled cutting action during the final shaping of hard materials. Mounts direct to the shaft with a set screw. Mix and match insert cutters to customize this turning system to meet your woodworking needs.
