Cherry is a warm pinkish to red toned wood that ages to a nice reddish brown color. It is a hardwood that is easy to work with and strong, with a satiny texture and tight uniform grain. Another common grain characteristic is slight figure or flashing. This veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is usually finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural color.Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) veneer is a type of paper-backed veneer that is a simple and easy alternative for applying veneer without the need for a liquid adhesive. Utilizing 3M adhesives, PSA veneer bonds to most smooth surfaces that are dry and free of dust and contaminants. PSA backed veneer can be applied to MDF, particleboard, plywood and drywall with excellent results. When applying to wood, the wood must be sealed with a light coat of finish or shellac.
