Quarter cut Sapele, or Ribbon Sapele is known for its prominent and lustrous ribbon stripe figure which is produced when the logs are quartered. Sapele is an African hardwood of medium density that is often used as a substitute for South American Mahogany. It is easy to work with and strong, with a satiny texture, tight uniform grain and consistent color. Quarter cut Sapele wood veneer will accept stains and finishes well which accentuate the ribbon stripe figure.Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) veneer is a type of paper-backed veneer that is a simple and easy alternative for applying veneer without the need for a liquid adhesive.
