The Cerax two-sided 1500/280–grit combination whetstone is a good place to start for establishing or repairing an edge or taking out nicks, plus the 1500-grit side is great for softening the scratches left by a coarse stone or putting an edge on a kitchen knife. They’re cost effective – two stones for the price of one. These stones are fast, developing a reputation for sharpening quickly, yet with good feedback and they maintain their shape with minimal maintenance. Cerax stones do require soaking – a good rule of thumb is to submerge them in water until the air bubbles stop. Each stone comes in a plastic storage case that can double as a sharpening platform, and also includes a cleaning stone. Instructions for use in English are included with each stone.
