The NOVA Galaxi DVR Lathe is powered by the renowned DVR (Digital Variable Reluctance) drive and is built for the most demanding, rugged turning conditions. This advanced motor technology, exclusive to NOVA, delivers an incredible turning experience. The DVR Lathe features a 1-3/4 HP, 115V motor that is direct drive, using one-piece rotors and no pulleys or belts for extremely smooth turning performance and 100% transfer of power to the spindle, which is actually the rotor assembly of the DVR motor itself. The powerful onboard computer which controls the DVR Drive closely monitors lathe spindle conditions (load and size) and delivers just the power and torque necessary to keep to within 1-2% of the set speed. This lathe combines the best features of larger lathes – power, capacity and capability with state of the art technology to make turning more efficient, fun and safer.
