Bocote (Cordia spp.) offers a dynamic look, with yellowish-brown tones and dark brown to black striping. Over time, the wood darkens, enhancing its natural beauty. Unique grain figure—including “eyes”—is common and doesn’t interfere with machining. While certain types may contain silica, most Bocote is easy to machine and glue. Originating mainly from Mexico and Central/South America, it’s widely used in fine woodworking and instrument making. This slab is surfaced on both sides and measures 1-1/4″ x 11-1/4″ x 37″.
