Each steel panel has an array of large holes for rubber grommets that grip your workpiece. Additional smaller holes help pull the sanding dust down and away from the user when used with a shop vacuum or dust collector. Those smaller holes also provide a place to install stops that keep your workpiece from sliding off the downdraft surface.A blank panel is included to block off one side when sanding smaller pieces.
