These shop-made edge clamps are bound to come in handy when gluing hardwood edging on plywood.

If you build a lot of projects that use 3/4″ plywood you know covering the exposed edges of the plywood with strips of solid wood edging is a fairly routine matter. In spite of that gluing on these narrow strips of wood always seems to require more fiddling around than you’d like. If it’s a long piece for instance you have to drag out an armload of heavy clamps to apply pressure along the entire length of the strip. And even then aligning the edging with one hand and positioning the clamps with the other is a bit tricky. To simplify this process I built a set of six small edge clamps. These clamps make it easy to align the edging and apply pressure at the same time.
